Chelsea Orr is a passionate, energetic teacher, and engaging performer in the Washington, D.C. area.

As a performer with over a decade of professional playing experience, Chelsea’s beautiful sound, technical mastery, commanding presence, and truly genuine musicianship has made her a much sought-after musician. Whether a soloist or a member of any group, Chelsea strives to make every piece an emotional journey for the listener, drawing audiences in to feel and move in unexpected ways. Chelsea is currently serving in The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Ceremonial Band as a trumpet/bugle player.

In placing 2nd in the graduate solo division and winning 1st in the ensemble division of the National Trumpet Competition, in addition to competing in the semi finals of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, Chelsea has made herself a presence on the national stage.

Chelsea also teaches hard-working students throughout the D.C. area and specializes in working with trumpet students at intermediate and higher levels. Chelsea’s teaching has been honed and perfected over 11 years and she has had great success with placing students in the Texas All-State bands and orchestras, as well as getting students into the music studios of the University of North Texas, Stephen F. Austin University, and The University of Texas at Arlington. As a trumpet teaching assistant at both the University of Colorado - Boulder and the University of Texas at Austin, Chelsea taught music education method lessons and undergraduate lessons for 5 years. Working with trumpet students with a desire to work hard and reach new heights is Chelsea’s ultimate career passion.
